Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day!
How did Loudoun County residents celebrate this holiday? By joining in on the 20th annual Leesburg Martin Luther King Jr. Walk!
Every year people come out in the frigid weather to honor Dr. King for his legacy and teachings. People from around the region join in, some for personal reasons, and some for tradition. All are there to honor Dr. King.
This morning on January 16th, 2012, hundreds marched the 0.7 miles from the Loudoun County Courthouse to Douglass High School. Douglass High School is monmental because it was the first high school built in the county in 1941 for African Americans during segregation. The school was named after African-American abolitionist Frederick Douglass.
